The PINE Film Festival

The PINE Film Festival is an awareness project of the emerging nonprofit organization Livable Place. Through the power of the moving picture, PINE aims to celebrate the wonders of our world while also showcasing the fragile balance of life and the perilous struggle for survival faced by so many. Ultimately, by connecting people through their common hopes and challenges, PINE strives to create a world of vibrant communities, where natural systems are safeguarded, pollution in its many forms is reduced, and the quality-of-life of all living things is improved.

Livable Place

Livable Place is a nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon. Its mission is to promote vibrant communities by restoring endemic biodiversity and reducing pollution and the suite of diseases that accompany pollution. Livable place addresses negatives aspects of the developed space that are not addressed by other organizations. These include, but are not limited to, the loss of endemic biodiversity, light pollution (which is now recognized as a cause of many cancers and a significant factor is Type II diabetes and obesity), noise pollution, and water and air pollution. Livable Place is currently developing an impactful informational resource for understanding the relationship between pollution and disease and for doing something about it!
