The PINE Film Festival
The
PINE Film Festival, where PINE stands for Portland
International Nature
and Environmental, is a celebration of:
• film and the independent
filmmaker - a unique, provocative medium
and the creative genius that brings it to life;
• storytelling - the ancient
art that engages us, entertains us, and perhaps most
important of all, provides understanding where none
may have existed before; and
• interconnection - our relationship
to each other, to the other organisms with whom we
share this planet and among those organisms.
What is an "environmental"
film? We interpret the term "environmental"
broadly. likening it to interconnectedness. Thus, to
us, an environmental film is one that reminds us of
or explores our relationship to each another and the
world around us.
The PINE Film Festival is a
project of the nonprofit organization Livable
Place.
